| Hotel Description |
Location. The red-brick Grand Hotel Palatino is in central Rome, Italy, 500 metres from the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Via Condotti are one-and-a-half kilometres away. The closest metro station is Cavour. Hotel Features. Silk fabric chairs furnish the marble lobby of the modern Grand Hotel Palatino, which was renovated in 2003. Multilingual 24-hour front desk and concierge staff welcome guests and provide tour assistance.
Dappled grey marble floors, high- backed seats and green-and-white interiors furnish the elegant L'Erbe restaurant. Open daily for dinner, the restaurant specialises in homemade ravioli. Le Spighe Restaurant offers international and Italian dishes. A baby grand piano, bronze panelling, resin-topped tables and red-velvet seating decorate Bar t, designed by Florentine architects. Serving drinks and meals until late, the bar also hosts live music daily, except Fridays. Complimentary buffet breakfasts are offered in two breakfast rooms.
The Grand Hotel Palatino has four air-conditioned conference rooms including the 220- capacity Sala Cesarini. The hotel offers wireless Internet access, and there are two high-speed Internet terminals in the lobby.
The hotel has a lounge adjoining the lobby, and a relaxing garden for guests. In-room massages are available on request.
Guestrooms. Dark carpets and antique paintings contrast with cream walls in the Grand Hotel Palatino's 208 climate-controlled guestrooms. All contemporary rooms have soundproofing, satellite television, dial-up Internet connections (surcharge) and safes. Most rooms offer rooftop views over Rome.
Expert Tip. For memorable sunsets, guests should walk down Via Cavour towards the Forum, Rome's 2,000-year-old ruins. Another favourite spot is Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo.
